In the field of interior design, the relationship between the personalization of spaces and the budget defined by the client is becoming increasingly important: the challenge is to optimize costs without compromising architectural quality. In this context, a sartorial approach and the design of hybrid spaces, which can meet the different needs of users, represent an added value in meeting the desires of the client.Prospettive e trend nel mercato dell’interior design - ©Gio Trotti Un momento della tavola rotonda Around Design, organizzata da THE PLAN in collaborazione con Atlas Concorde

These topical issues were discussed at the Around Design conference, held in Milan on June 25, 2024, and organized by THE PLAN in collaboration with Atlas Concorde. The panel discussion featured leading professionals who hold different and complementary roles in the design and construction supply chain: Ines Bovona of Coima Image, Francesco Motta and Valentina Aiolfi of Green Stone SICAF, Giuseppe Rossi of Bizzi & Partners, Ranieri Lapi Catteschi of Plan Studio, Gabriele Pelligrò of Artisa Group, Mauro Iantoschi and Andrea Giannitelli of Pasqualucci Impresa di Costruzioni, and Maurizio Mazzotti of Atlas Concorde.Prospettive e trend nel mercato dell’interior design - courtesy Artisa Group Edificio a uso misto Tower 55, Züst Gübeli Gambetti in collaborazione con Artisa Developer, Zurigo, Svizzera, sviluppato da Artisa Group.

The discussion revealed that customization plays a crucial role in budget optimization, and that it is the added value of tailoring that leads clients to increase investment. Involving the client in the project from the earliest stages creates a unique bond with the architectural work, thus constituting an important marketing strategy for real estate professionals. Another interesting point is the growing attention of clients to the quality of the process as a whole: from the property acquisition phase to the choice of suppliers, from the design concept to the completion of the work.Prospettive e trend nel mercato dell’interior design - ©Tecma, courtesy Bizzi & Partners Complesso residenziale Angst Bordighera 1887, Tectoo, Imperia, sviluppato da Bizzi & Partners.

Lastly, from the perspective of real estate investment, the hybridization of spaces plays a key role as it expands the possibilities of use, allowing buildings to be lived in “continuous cycle”, in every period of the year and at different times of the day. One example of this is the so-called microliving residential complex, which represents a new build-to-rent building type, interpreting a renewed way of living domestic spaces. These housing units are characterized by minimal size but are located within multi-story buildings equipped with numerous service and multifunctional common rooms that can be freely used by inhabitants of the complex.Prospettive e trend nel mercato dell’interior design - ©H3re Agency, courtesy Green Stone Sicaf Complesso residenziale Terrazze Fedro, MAD Architects, Stefano La Greca Bertacchi (M&F architectures), SCE Project, Roma, sviluppato da Green Stone Sicaf.

Tailoring and hybridization of spaces are thus winning strategies that enable the creation of unique and welcoming environments, capable of meeting the needs of the market and society. The key to success lies in the balance between standardization and customization.
