Pt. Leo Estate Winery, a truly sensory experience for visitors Jolson Architecture and Interiors Jolson Architecture and Interiors was commissioned to design Pt. Leo Estate Winery by an art enthusiast and fine Australian wine producer. Matsubara Civic Library, beyond the boundary of natural and artificial MARU.architecture With the Matsubara Civic Library in Matsubara, Osaka Prefecture replaced an existing library. The original building was located adjacent to a pond in a park, which is the location of many of the area’s cultural facilities. The design competition called for proposals that considered design and construction. MARU.architecture’s winning proposal viewed the site as a unique project condition. They placed the library in the water. The proposal won for its creativity and rationalization of construction process and budget. Sterling Forest House, a private and unobtrusive residential retreat Alexander Gorlin Architects Alexander Gorlin Architects designed the modern Sterling Forest House in a historic village in New York. The residence was requested to be be both private and unobtrusive. This statement achieved balance by carefully situating the structure into the quarried stone of the site. Sustainable design strategies were used with sensitivity to the environment. The result is a new architectural standard for the local community. A small villa set among the scents of citrus and olive trees in Piedimonte Etneo Dap Studio Dap Studio has designed a villa with swimming pool in Piedimonte Etneo, Sicily, between the volcano and the Ionian Sea, bringing back to life a former barn. The Institute for Neuroscience in Plateau de Paris-Saclay is a stately landmark in France Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes | Celnikier & Grabli Architects The “Plateau de Paris-Saclay” is a university campus in France located 20 kilometers [12.43 miles] south of Paris. In 2013, a competition was held by the CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique) for a neuroscience institute to accommodate about 350 scientists and 40 students. The winning proposal was designed by Dietmar Feichtinger Architects as the lead team, together with Celnikier & Grabli Architects. LA Garage at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon SRG Partnership The 409,000 square foot LA Garage at Nike World Headquarters is a node of activity for people arriving on campus. Jeff Yrazabal was the Principal-in-charge of the project for SRG Partnership. The parking structure mass is broken up to provide opportunities for daylight to enter the spaces and a public covered courtyard is carved into the center of the building. House in Minohshinmachi. Residential charm and elegance embrace the richness of nature in Osaka Yasuyuki Kitamura House in Minohshinmachi by Yasuyuki Kitamura won the prestigious AZ Award, and has been selected as the 2021 Architizer A+ Awards Finalist for Architecture + Living Small/Low Cost Design. This project, designed for a young couple, is a one-story house that blends into the surrounding landscape. The site is located in the northernmost part of Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture. The project maximizes views of the home’s backdrop of Mount Aogai. A place for play and learning. ANOHA Children’s World ignites imagination in youth of Berlin Olson Kundig Architects On June 27th 2021, the Jewish Museum Berlin opened ANOHA Children’s World designed by Olson Kundig a Seattle based architecture practice. Alan Maskin, the Design Principal, crafted ANOHA to invite preschool and elementary school children to explore. The museum is inspired by the pioneering vision of Noah's Ark at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, which underscores the importance of diversity, community, and second chances. ANOHA provides a place for play and learning while seeking to foster a sense of hope and possibility. Visitors are encouraged to interact with one another and to create an empathetic future.
