The new Trio series by Agrob Buchtal, a collection of ceramic tiles with different surfaces, colors and sizes is just like patchwork, which comes alive through the stitching together of different cloths to create a mosaic of colorful fabric. As its name suggests, Trio has three explicit references – nature, craftsmanship and color – which are actual trends in interior and outdoor design. Through the flexible combinations of the various tiles, it is possible to achieve environments with profoundly different styles, ranging from more simple and minimalist personalities to more eccentric ones. It should be emphasized that esthetics and functionality are never separated from a careful attention towards sustainability: the reduced thickness of only 6 mm is crucial in the reduction of the ecological footprint and the use of raw materials. Carbon emissions, energy and fuel consumption, and indirectly, the amount of packaging needed, are also reduced. The surface finishing of Trio, Hytect®, is additionally antibacterial, neutralizes air pollutants, and contributes to a healthier indoor climate.
Nature, one of Trio’s themes, is the predominant element in the stone-effect floors, created by the overlapping of clay, natural stone and cement, interrupted by colored pebbles: the surfaces in question are matte with a natural look and subtle tones. Color, instead, is the defining characteristic of the square format elements, available in four shades and in two decorations (either with a soft matte solid color glaze or a glossy glaze with a fluted effect). Lastly, craftsmanship, as the heart of the decorative solutions, echoes the tradition of Venetian terrazzo.
Trio features great flexibility that allows the different elements of the collection to be combined with one another and used for different purposes, primarily for mixed-use residential buildings but also for offices, hotels and restaurants.
