Viabizzuno’s work to develop discreet lighting products that both enhance and preserve artworks has led to the creation of trentotto sagomatore, a new profile spotlight designed to provide museums and art galleries with optimal exhibit lighting that brings out the finer details without any risk of damage. Part of the larger trentotto family, designed by marionanni, the new trentotto sagomatore profile spotlight has an essential oxidized aluminum body that measures just 38 millimeters in diameter. But its lens is the key feature. Made of methacrylate, it’s able to frame artworks in such a way as to highlight their details with the utmost precision, uniformity, and correct brightness. The unit also combines exceptional lighting quality with a very low risk of damage.
Once fitted inside museums or art galleries, the trentotto sagomatore’s light beam can be adjusted by changing the position of its shutters or rotating the spotlight body by up to 355 degrees on its vertical axis and up to 90 degrees on its horizontal axis. The result is that artworks, panels, and objects of all shapes and sizes can be illuminated by a light beam with clean, crisp edges. The unit is sufficiently flexible and adjustable that it’s easy to vary the lighting as exhibits are changed.
And the benefits of the trentotto sagomatore continue with ease of maintenance, repairs, and respect for setting. With a color rendering index of 98 (100 is the highest CRI, based on natural sunlight), an average life of 50,000 hours (that is, 17 years if used eight hours a day), and compact dimensions, this profile spotlight is an excellent choice for providing high lighting performance coupled with reduced maintenance and repair costs. And the preservation of works is ensured, regardless of architectural restraints.
This new product is available in two versions: zoom and fixed. The zoom option has an adjustable beam angle ranging from 21 to 32 degrees, while the fixed version has a 53-degree range, making it suitable for illuminating larger artworks. Both versions feature Viabizzuno’s nero55 finish, and its proprietary dali or casambi on-off switches. The casambi version can be operated using the Viascenario smart app wireless lighting control system.
