“Let us leave future generations with a better environment than the one we inherited”. This statement of intent sums up the philosophy of NET Engineering, an architecture and engineering company specializing in designing systems for mobility, urban regeneration, industry, and smart and sustainable infrastructure. The firm has translated its approach into the physical spaces of its new headquarters, which it designed in-house. Occupying roughly 1,200 sq. m in Padua’s La Cittadella business district, the headquarters is the result of a biophilic design approach focused on the core values of flexibility, well-being, and perceptual quality to create dynamic, modular open-plan areas. DVO, a company specializing in furniture for work and corporate environments, played a key role in the site’s interior design. To meet the firm’s needs, DVO began by analyzing NET Engineering’s founding values, translating them into a range of furniture and spatial solutions, including functional glass walls for enhanced natural light, phone booths for privacy, and storage units with integrated planters that echo biophilic principles.

Workstations were also developed with ergonomics and sustainability in mind. The Toledo sit-stand desk, for example, is designed to promote movement and improve posture, while Kyn metal shelving units minimize light obstruction through their lightweight design and interplay between open and closed spaces. Finally, to optimize spatial organization and provide storage, DVO supplied universal containers and lockers.
With this project, NET Engineering’s motto of “Imagine. Think. Design.” has been translated into architectural form, while the interior design powerfully communicates the firm’s identity.
