The projects in the ‘Industrial Design’ category of THE PLAN Award 2021

Industrial design represents the most detailed part of interior design, in which creativity focuses on the single piece of furniture, at the meeting point between craftsmanship and serial production. Organic or geometric shapes, bright or pastel colors, models designed for the home or office but, increasingly, suitable for both contexts. Even in the field of materials there is a wide range of possibilities, without forgetting what Gio Ponti said: «It is not concrete, it is not wood, it is not stone, it is not steel, it is not glass. The most resistant material in construction is art».

There are two shortlisted projects in the ‘Industrial Design’ category of THE PLAN Award 2021, both belonging to the section Completed, coming one from Florida and the other from Italy. These works have already passed the first selection phase of the prestigious annual architecture and design award and could be included by the jury among the finalists. However, everyone can vote for their favorite projects in view of the assignment of the Community Wish List Special Prize.
