Residential complexes, student residences and social housing: historically, the collective forms of living, especially in the case of public housing, have always been characterized by the need to create as many units as possible in the available space. Today, however, we are witnessing a decisive change of perspective, towards a more qualitative than quantitative concept, focused on the well-being of the inhabitants and on the creation of a sense of community, with numerous services and common areas.
There are 34 shortlisted projects in the ‘Housing’ category of THE PLAN Award 2021, between the two sections Completed and Future, coming from all over the world. These works have already passed the first selection phase of the prestigious annual architecture and design award and could be included by the jury among the finalists. However, everyone can vote for their favorite projects in view of the assignment of the Community Wish List Special Prize.
