The projects in the ‘Renovation’ category of THE PLAN Award 2021

The redevelopment of existing buildings is today the predominant theme in architectural projects. From the restoration of buildings with historical and artistic value to the renovation of unused spaces, the recovery interventions on the one hand ensure the enhancement of the building’s heritage and on the other respond to the now essential need for sustainable development of urban centers. Often, this operation is accompanied by a change of intended use, which allows to give new life to abandoned spaces.

There are 50 shortlisted projects in the ‘Renovation’ category of THE PLAN Award 2021, between the two sections Completed and Future, from all over the world. These works have already passed the first selection phase of the prestigious annual architecture and design award and could be included by the jury among the finalists. However, everyone can vote for their favorite projects in view of the assignment of the Community Wish List Special Prize.
