Si Minore is the outcome of a reevaluation of the window’s role in contemporary architecture and Capoferri’s aim to express its design approach clearly and coherently. Developed to work with the building rather than draw attention to itself, the system maintains a subtle profile while giving particular weight to detail – both technically and in terms of architectural practice. It represents a synthesis of clear design intent: a window reduced to its essentials and calibrated to support the overall composition without dominating it. The project reflects the approach of Sergio Capoferri, the company’s president, and can therefore be read as a statement of the firm’s design philosophy. Its name – Si Minore or B minor – also signals its restrained, measured tone.

Si Minore is defined by its measured proportions, minimal profiles, and continuous surfaces, which allow light, material, and space to shape the character of the whole. The profile itself, the result of rigorous research into geometries and chamfers, was conceived not as a formal detail but as a means to modulate light, soften edges, and guide the eye along the perimeter of the opening.

The designers paid close attention to the hardware, which has been integrated into the design rather than standing out as a feature. Its mechanisms, fittings, and traditional barrel hinges are either completely hidden or visually absorbed into the geometry of the frame, contributing to the clarity of the design and the perception of a single coherent element within the architecture. Equal attention has been given to materials. Built from select hardwoods, Si Minore underscores both the quality of its materials and its relationship with the interior space, while also providing high levels of insulation and weather‑tightness. The system is also available with an exterior metal casing (stainless steel or bronze) for more exposed conditions or contemporary buildings that require greater durability and reduced exterior maintenance. This version fully preserves the project’s formal identity.

Si Minore is an open system for unique, non‑standard architectural projects. With this window, Capoferri has developed not just a product, but a measured design statement in which technique, materials, and form work together in quiet equilibrium.
