MIPIM is paving the way for the Real Estate market to achieve decarbonization with Road to Zero, a new themed section that will host exhibitor booths, meetings, and conferences with a focus on environmental sustainability and ESG strategies (environmental, social, and governance). This international event, scheduled for March 14–17 in Cannes, is therefore stepping up the pace towards the goal of carbon neutrality – that is, the state of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions.
Occupying a dedicated area of 400 m2, Road to Zero will expand on the theme of MIPIM 2022, Driving Urban Change, through a series of talks on the decarbonization of energy infrastructure and investment in low-carbon technologies, smart urban tech solutions for the development of sustainable cities, increasing biodiversity in urban areas, sustainable retrofitting, net zero data strategies, increasing productivity through offsite modular construction, 3D printing, and Industry 4.0. The section is curated by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) with the World Green Building Council (WGBC) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBGCSD).
“As the real estate sector strives to achieve net-zero, MIPIM aims to assist exhibitors and attendees by providing examples of best practice and case studies. Road to Zero will shine a spotlight on ESG, innovation, and technologies that can accelerate the transformation of the built environment towards a more sustainable model.” – Nicolas Kozubek, MIPIM director
