Combining the urban redevelopment of a portion of strategic territory for Milan with the regeneration of uniquely located and structured buildings, a new and functional design, and increased energy efficiency, One Works developed their project for The Bridge, the office campus located just a few steps from Castello Sforzesco. Articulated around a central garden that is protected by the same three buildings that make up the hub, the complex spans over 1,000 sq. m with different styles coming from different eras of construction: precise and geometric lines faithful to those of the original façade of the main building facing Via San Giovanni sul Muro and large windows creating an effect of lightness and dematerialization for the L-shaped building, which reappear in the shed roof of the third structure dating to the 19th century.
One of the principal objectives of the project was to reduce environmental impact, which could not have been achieved without the contribution of Resstende, which supplied 184 indoor and 106 outdoor blinds for the entire campus. For the main building, for example, a custom arm system was made using the Sunscreen Satinè 5500 fabric in Black and Bronze – this thermal protection guarantees optimal visual comfort in the workspaces.
In the L-shaped building, characterized by a double-skin glass structure, the company supplied a shading system capable of providing visual and thermal comfort in the interiors, adapting to the unique geometry of the façade. Within the double-skin façade is the Ress Flex 01 system, which boasts extreme adaptability according to requirements.
For the third building, the design included the construction of six completely custom-made blinds, equipped with the Traction kit 55 and without cassettes, for the sloping roof of the glass skylight above the meeting room on the ground floor.
All this makes The Bridge a unique and symbolic business campus in Milan.
