Materiality Conveying Stories and Emotions Dimore Surfaces

As a company specializing in tiles, Dimore Surfaces sees designing and working with surfaces as going beyond simply applying finishes to defining spaces. With a keen focus on design and innovation stemming from a belief in the connection between materials and emotions, the company sets out to convey stories beginning with the raw materials. Each surface becomes a canvas on which to trace a narrative, evoke sensations, and create timeless atmospheres.

Drawing inspiration from the tranquil choreography of Japanese Zen gardens, the Midas Collection embodies the quiet philosophy of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection and the passage of time. With a soft, textured surface that reproduces the earthy tones of slate, the range is available in four formats and five shades – silver, camel, smoke, fog, and cream. By drawing on nature, the series offers a tactile experience, with each mark and ripple crafted to echo the raw beauty of the natural world. Resistant to stains and scratches, the surface combines durability and easy cleaning with rustic charm.

The crown jewel of the collection is Brillio, a surface finish that has earned international acclaim as a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025 winner. Inspired by slate’s raw tactility, Brillio pairs rustic elegance with advanced performance - its soft, structured surface echoes nature’s imperfect beauty while offering anti-stain, scratch-resistant durability.

The collection is available in a versatile range of sizes to suit diverse architectural applications (from 600 x 1.200 mm to 1.200 x 2.800 mm). This fusion of poetic materiality and functional excellence represents the very ethos of Dimore: innovation with soul.

Behind the elegance of the design is a series of innovative technologies, including dry granular technology (DGT), a glazing method that prevents light distortion. The result is an ultra-durable, high‑definition, and mirror-like finish. Complementing DGT is sintered stone, a material fired at over 1200 °C and bonded under 44,000 t of pressure. It is naturally fused from a unique sandy clay composition using advanced Italian GEA PRESS technology. This fusion of sand and clay yields a surface of
extraordinary strength, precision, and natural integrity - a contemporary expression of geological beauty.
