By Editorial Staff -

RICS Italia has announced the reappointment of Massimiliano Pulice as chairman of the Advisory Board for the next three years. As chair of the Italian board, Pulice will also represent Italy on the European World Regional Board (EWRB).

With his appointment, nominations for members of the Italian board are now open. Applications, open to all RICS members, need to be submitted by August 31.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is one of the most highly respected professional bodies globally for defining professional standards in the property market. Besides being responsible for setting standards in the real estate sector, it endorses the professional and ethical standards of its members.

Massimiliano Pulice

Civil engineer Massimiliano Pulice has over 25 years of experience in construction, with a focus on program management and strategic procurement. Managing director of Arcadis Italia since 2019, he has stepped up efforts to innovate the real estate community, supporting the real estate management department of the Politecnico di Milano and collaborating with the Board of Engineers and Architects of Milan.

“Our challenge”, says Pulice, “is to map out a growth path for RICS in Italy founded on professionalism, education, and the vital role of young people. Together, we can build a solid, ethical future for the Italian real estate sector, in which transparency, innovation, and excellence are the principles underpinning all our actions. We want to create a community of professionals committed to improving standards and promoting sustainable development who are driven by a shared passion for a responsible, inclusive industry. The success of RICS in Italy will be the result of this collective effort. I am confident that together we can achieve outstanding results for our profession and country”.

European World Regional Board (EWRB)

The European World Regional Board (EWRB) was established by RICS to better represent European professionals and contribute to the built environment. RICS members play a vital role in overcoming the major challenges facing the construction sector in Europe and globally, including climate change, and the need to bring greater diversity and inclusiveness to the profession.

Chaired by Susanne Eickermann-Riepe, director of the ICG Institute in Germany and with over 30 years of experience in the sector, EWRB comprises nine members, with each representing one region of continental Europe: Germany, France, Italy, Iberia, Benelux, the Nordic countries, Central Europe, Greece, and Cyprus.

The new EWRB began its mandate on July 1, with the new members chairing the boards in their respective countries. Appointment of local board members in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain will take place in July and August.

Sustainability, valuation, residential property, and the future of the profession are the key areas addressed by EWRB through promoting the use of new technologies among real estate professionals and coordinating the training of the next generation.
