Lithic: natural looks and innovation combined

Nexion unveils a new range of sintered surfaces inspired by natural stone

Lithic: natural looks and innovation combined

Created as a joint venture between Italian firm Ceramiche Speranza and Indian firm Simpolo, Nexion drew its inspiration for Lithic, its new range of sintered surfaces, from the beauty of natural stone, its shades, and their simplicity, but reinterpreted with a touch of design and innovation. Available in different shades inspired by natural stones – including Piasentina and Pannonia – and in numerous sizes, Lithic creates a harmony and elegance that are as natural as they are sophisticated, without overlooking innovation, design, and functionality for contemporary projects. Each tile integrates seamlessly with the others to create perfectly balanced and unified surfaces that are also hard-wearing. Aesthetics, design, and functionality therefore go hand in hand.

The range of Lithic finishes includes one inspired by Piasentina stone, which recalls the spontaneous elegance of nature. Extracted in Friuli in northeast Italy, this stone is known for its elegance, combining a gray background with white, pink, and gray veining. Another characteristic of this stone is its irregular texture. By adding a touch of orange to the background, Nexion has emphasized its veining and textures to create combinations of warm and cold shades. The final effect is elegant and fresh, suitable for designer interiors and rooms themed on the simplicity of nature.

Another stone that inspired the Lithic range is Pannonia, a limestone found in the mountains on the border between Italy and Austria, and characterized by its dynamic and fluid appearance. Like Piasentina, it has white veining, but also gray, which stands out against its intensely dark background. Nexion’s interpretation of the stone, however, has a beige background that flows delicately from tile to tile, while creating a highly dynamic look with its dark, sinuous veining. Its design recalls desert dunes shaped by the wind.

Alpi Argento is another option available in the collection. Inspired by the silver limestone extracted in the Alps, the stone has a delicate background with tiny pebbles and sediments that are usually only visible when observed from close up. Nexion, however, has brought out its bedding to create a warmer, more enveloping background. The effect is natural combined with a contemporary sophistication that creates a tranquil mood and sense of welcome. Alpi Argento also easily combines with other surfaces.

Kilkenny Nero was inspired by the stone of the same name from Northern Europe, known for its intensely black background and high fossil content. Nexion calibrated the range of blacks to achieve the same intensity as the original stone and maintain its depth. The size of the fossils has been enhanced to create a balanced, evenly distributed design. In this way, each fossil tells its own story, transforming the surface into visual poetry.
