Feelo is a new roller shutter box from Alpac that almost imperceptibly blends into the wall, despite its inspection cover being inside. It’s also highly functional, offering excellent thermal and acoustic performance. The product of Alpac’s experience and commitment to innovation, this new insulated shutter box installs flush to the wall, becoming an integral part of the window unit. It’s a genuine rethink of traditional shutter boxes, which aren’t always entirely effective, especially in terms of thermal and acoustic insulation. The product perfectly insulates the wall opening, while offering a range of customization options for better integration into the space. It’s therefore able to stylishly adapt to different interiors to provide high performance levels and aesthetic quality.
An integral part of Alpac’s Presystem and INGENIUS VMC window unit, Feelo is characterized by its flush-to-wall design, which eliminates the bulky presence of a traditional box and allows the unit to blend into the wall. The product’s clean appearance is the result of its side mounting profile with incorporated plaster mesh and plasterboard, which allows the unit to integrate seamlessly into the structure of the wall. Plus, its visible parts are paintable fiber cement, so the box can have the same finish as the wall’s. The product’s ability to adapt to any style of room is therefore optimum.
A variety of sizes further increases the range of applications. The unit is, for example, suitable for very large window openings of up to 5.2 meters of glass. And there are four depth and height variants available for different wall openings and to accommodate even bulky roller shutters, such as solar screens or security shutters. Its front-opening inspection panel is a key feature that simplifies maintenance, making it possible to access the roller shutter both comfortably and safely from inside.
And its appearance combines with technical performance. In terms of insulation, Feelo provides a U-value (thermal transmittance) of between 0.55 W/m2K and 0.65 W/m2K, as well as an Rw (weighted sound reduction) of 43 dB with the roller shutter open and over 47 dB with it closed.
