The ECCA Prepainted Metal Envelope Award, funded by ECCA and organized for the first time this year together with THE PLAN, aims to recognize outstanding projects that effectively use prepainted metal and demonstrate architectural excellence. The 2025 edition focuses on projects completed after January 1, 2020, realized in Europe, and submitted by individual professionals or teams working in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and engineering.
Entries are divided into three categories according to the extent of façade cladding in prepainted metal panels: Small: up to 2,000 m²; Medium: between 2,000 and 5,000 m²; Large: over 5,000 m². Eligible façade types include Composite ACP, Honeycomb HCP, Standing Seam, Shingles, Insulated Panels, Sidings, Trapezoidals, Single Skin, and Cassettes, showcasing the material’s versatility in architectural applications.

The winner and honorable mentions were selected from a shortlist of finalists by an international jury of distinguished experts based on five key evaluation criteria: graphic quality and clarity of presentation materials; effective integration of prepainted metal architectural components; conceptual coherence and design methodology; innovation in product use and realization of project objectives; environmental and material sustainability.
The 2025 jury includes: Amrita Mahindroo, founder of DROO; Silvia Prandelli, Senior Principal at Populous; Tobias Wallisser, founder of L-A-V-A.
