QU looked to the Far East and its cone-shaped rice straw hats for inspiration for its new Duolì table lamp. This is a custom piece created as part of the lighting design of the new Capitol Hotel in Nervi, designed by Parisotto + Formenton Architetti, which will open in the coming months.
With its pure, essential lines, devoid of any superfluous details, the Duolì is an expressive design. Its thin stem recalls the slenderness of rushes in the wind.
All these aspects captured in the design make the lamp suitable for different settings, from residential to hospitality, its timeless look evoked in particular by its lightness and simplicity. And while its design is iconic, the lamp also produces a soft, focused light for reading and working.
The lampshade, inspired by rice straw hats, has a diameter of 6 1/4” (160 mm). This joins to an aluminum base by a very thin, gently curving stem. Two versions of the base are available: either asymmetrical and solid, with a height of 17 1/8” (435 mm), or with a clamp, with a height of 16 1/8” (410 mm).
Both versions are available in Black, White, Sage Green, Fierce Green, Night Blue, Ancient Brick, and Silver Grey.
