Between September 8 and 10, Oslo will come alive with architects, designers, and artists from around the world as they gather in the Norwegian capital for Designers’ Saturday Oslo. The fair, now up to its 20th edition, is Norway’s most important event for professionals involved in the design, furniture, and interior architecture supply chain.

The aim of the event is to showcase the qualities and potential of Norwegian design to the world and give a voice to the country in the international interior architecture dialogue.

Designers’ Saturday: the importance of collaboration

This year’s edition of the biennial Designers’ Saturday will see the participation of over 200 exhibitors from Norway and beyond, and will attract over 7000 visitors from around the world. The theme of this edition, Collaborate, was chosen to highlight the importance of creating strong ties up and down the production chain, and of communication and cooperation between creatives and industry. The event is intended to foster collaboration between designers and manufacturers, and encourage exchange between architectural firms. To help achieve these goals, a program of round tables and conferences, dubbed DS Talks, will focus on the theme of collaboration.

“We’re very excited to see the growth in Norwegian design. Designers’ Saturday is an ideal platform to showcase Norwegian design and encourage new collaborations between designers and manufacturers, with the common goal of growing our industry”.
Ragnhild Grytten, marketing manager of Norwegian Designindustry
