Italian luxury products group Damiani has opened two elegant new boutiques in Milan. Located just a short distance apart in architecturally significant settings, both combine high-end design and elevated security through architecture that, in turn, integrates seamlessly with its surroundings. Designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel’s practice ACPV Architects, the first boutique is in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the second – a Salvini brand store – in Piazza Duomo. Erreci Architecture, a division of Erreci Sicurezza that specializes in steel window and door systems, was involved in both projects.
Given the architectural setting, Erreci Architecture chose Janisol and Janisol HI, both Jansen products. These meticulously crafted systems subtly integrate into historic buildings while offering high levels of thermal insulation and security. The products made it possible to achieve the right balance between preserving architectural heritage and incorporating innovation.
In the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II boutique, Erreci Architecture supplied and installed display windows used to showcase jewelry and other products. One of the cases has a hinged door, seven fixed glazing panels, and an electronic lock for greater security. Another distinctive feature of this boutique is its curtain wall with Schüco aluminum profiles. This protects an area that is both an exhibition space and a vertical connection between floors. Erreci Architecture used the same Janisol system for the shopfront of the Salvini boutique, featuring a hinged door and three fixed glazing panels. This system was chosen to ensure maximum thermal insulation and security, while enhancing the overall esthetic.
In both projects, the group’s hallmark elegance was transposed into architectural form.
