La Mazzoni, La Mer by Elie Saab and Layan Verde

Founded in 1984 in Abu Dhabi, multidisciplinary practice Dewan Architects + Engineers today has offices in Dubai and several other cities across the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Fluid, sculptural forms inspired by the natural landscape typify its architecture.

Among its current projects are La Mazzoni and La Mer by Elie Saab, two residential developments on the shores of Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, a coastal city in the United Arab Emirates on the Persian Gulf. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the developments offer exclusive homes focused on resident well-being. Both are set within lush landscaped grounds that, together with wellness facilities and other amenities, recreate the atmosphere of a luxury resort.

La Mer by Elie Saab comprises 355 residences branded by the Lebanese fashion house across three beachfront high-rises, inspired by the region’s historic towers and connected by a series of bridges. Conceived as an architectural symphony between land and sea, La Mazzoni likewise integrates references to natural elements within a contemporary form, honoring the local marine landscape and the grandeur of Ras Al Khaimah’s mountains.

In Southeast Asia, construction on the Layan Verde development began in 2025. Located on Phuket Island, a tourist destination in southern Thailand, it will include two hotels, 134 apartment buildings branded by prestigious hospitality groups, and 625 residential buildings. Guests and residents will have access to a wide range of services, including swimming pools, a beach club, shops, restaurants, parks, and children’s play areas, with pedestrian access to Layan Beach on the crystalline waters of the Andaman Sea.
