Designed by LWK + Partners, the DIFC Living is the Dubai International Financial Centre’s first mixed-use complex. It combines a range of housing units with a hub for technology companies, venture capital funds, and other players within what can be described as an “innovation ecosystem” . The project, currently under construction, comprises over 170 residences plus a range of resident services, including an infinity pool, a fully equipped gym, a children’s play area, and luxury retail, which together provide a high-end residential experience. The building also houses offices, co-working spaces, and a conference center set within a curved extrusion that cantilevers out from the façade, offering panoramic views of the city.

Winner of the design competition, LWK + Partners’ architectural concept is based on interlocking volumes that overlap by addition and rotation, assigning a distinct geometry to each functional zone and creating a sequence of stacked terraces. The design follows biophilic principles, with extensive outdoor areas distributed along the building’s full height. The podium flows seamlessly into the public realm of the financial district, while greenery supports cooling and biodiversity. Housing a restaurant, a cube tops the tower, sparkling during the day in the desert sun because of its metal finishes. At night, it becomes a lantern, acting as both a landmark on Dubai’s skyline and a symbol of the contemporary urban lifestyle exemplified by DIFC Living.
