AB 110 is a 34-m yacht built by AB Yachts that combines sporting edge with design and elegance. With its large indoor and outdoor living spaces, it resembles a loft – but a loft with the agility of a high-performance sports boat. It is also a habitat where the rocking motion of the ocean waves creates a sense of tranquility. AB 110 embodies the history of the AB Yachts shipyard, a tradition distinguished by design, attention to detail, innovative construction techniques (including from the aerospace industry), and innovative technologies.
The result is a high-performance yacht with exceptional stability and precise handling that also offers luxurious onboard living. Reaching speeds of up to 45 knots and with a draft of just 1.3 m, this fast yacht can even sail smoothly in shallow water.
Its design was fully entrusted to architect Marco Casamonti, co-founder of Archea Associati. His work with the luxury yacht builder has produced the forerunner of what will be a new generation of yachts. Its strong identity stems from technology, sustainability, the seamless integration between furnishings and spaces, and a balance between high performance and onboard living. In short, AB 110 is a perfect fusion of art and engineering that merges performance, freedom, well-being, and comfort.
This fusion is also on show in its interior and exterior spaces, which were conceived, according to Casamonti, as “a single liquid material”. It is also seen in the way the stairs flow into furnishings and cabinetry. The use of teak inside and out adds to this liquid effect, with the wood “flowing” from surface to surface. From the beach area, this valuable material rises to the aft deck and then descends inside, creating a warm and welcoming feeling in the lounge and helm. The architect’s use of carbon fiber is similar, with its dynamic appearance, high performance, and strength and solidity creating a visual connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces that begins at the yacht’s unique flybridge. More spacious and livable than standard flybridges, and easily accessible via two carbon fiber staircases, it is a true lookout over the sea, allowing guests to stay in close contact with their marine surroundings. Furnished with comfortable sunbeds and sofas, it offers 360-degree views from above.
The squared sofas of the aft beach area and deck, which convert to sunbeds, are also on the flybridge and the forward sun deck. Echoes of their design can then be seen in the clear geometric shapes of the sofas and poufs in the main lounge and cabins.
Another defining feature of the yacht is the important role played by light. Carefully conceived for both day and night, the lighting design enhances the vessel’s unique lines, making it easily recognizable even after dusk.
