The hallmark features of Alpewa, a specialist company that markets metals for building envelopes, are solid experience and ongoing technological research. Based in Bolzano, the company offers a wide range of solutions that cater to all conceivable esthetic and functional requirements. Over the years, Alpewa has expanded beyond metal roofing materials into other product types, selecting Europe’s finest brands to offer designers a single point of contact for all building envelope requirements, from roofing to façades, safety systems, and waterproofing.
Prefalz® aluminum by Prefa was used for Maso Brunnenhof at Cortaccia, in Italy's South Tyrol region. This lightweight, recyclable material characterized by strength, durability and malleability allowed the pitched roof cladding to seamlessly continue on the building’s side elevations. To ensure the greatest possible design freedom, Prefalz® is available in a variety of colors and sizes, and has a 40-year guarantee. The dark brown shade chosen for the farmhouse is reminiscent of wood used locally on traditional buildings.
Another Alpewa project in South Tyrol chose Fielitz 3D panels obtained by individually shaping metal surfaces using modern cold fluid technology for the Hotel Alpin Garden in Ortisei. All types of metal, from aluminum to steel or copper, may be rendered three-dimensional, achieving greater material rigidity without altering surface areas; bespoke solutions are available.
Stacbond® composite panels, consisting of two aluminum sheets and an inner core of thermoplastic and mineral material, were used for the ventilated façade of the new headquarters at Imal, a Modena-based company specialized in supplying wood production machinery and plants. Available in a wide range of finishes, Stacbond® benefits from a panel mounting suspension system to ensure quick, easy installation.
