A playful aesthetic, expressed through vibrant colors and surprising interiors, defines the apartment in Sunny Isles Beach on Florida’s coast, designed by Studio RODA for Tom Joyner—American radio host, philanthropist, and musician, best known for The Tom Joyner Morning Show.
Located within the Porsche Design Tower in Miami-Dade County, the residence features a mix of jewel tones and sculptural elements that harmonize with the owner's extraordinary art collection, all enhanced by spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The functional layout of the home, arranged on a single level, includes an open-plan space with a living area, dining room, and kitchen, along with three bedrooms and a study. The highlight of the residence is the panoramic terrace with a swimming pool, complemented by an exclusive club room designed for hosting parties.

The eclectic character of the interior design conceived by Studio RODA fully reflects Tom Joyner’s vibrant and creative personality. The home is defined by shades of green and red, blended with burnt orange and gold tones, inspired by the owner’s kimono collection and his musical career.
The living area is filled with unique sculptural elements: two suede sofas, an armchair by Korean artist Seungjin Yang, another designed by Ricardo Fasanello in the 1970s, and a long lime-green fused resin dining table, above which hangs a custom-made, oversized Murano glass chandelier.
Like in a contemporary art gallery, the owner’s collection is displayed along the walls, featuring works by Picasso, Anish Kapoor, and a commissioned painting by Ernie Barnes. For the living room ceiling, a high-gloss plaster finish was chosen to reflect the crystalline waters of the ocean.
Pure silk rugs further enhance the rooms, which are flooded with natural light thanks to large floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchen, featuring gold-finished cabinetry, is completed by a dining nook with a table and seating area, entirely styled in shades of brown, where glossy and velvety surfaces create a striking contrast.
The project also includes a series of custom-designed furnishings by Studio RODA, such as the banquettes in the club room, the bed and matching headboard in the master bedroom, as well as wardrobes and freestanding bar cabinets inspired by disco balls.
While never compromising on comfort and functionality, every space in the home fully reflects the client’s original request to create something out of the ordinary.
