The pandemic has accelerated the digital transition, making a growing number of devices an ever more essential part of
day-to-day life. In response, Jung designed a new plug with a fast-charging USB socket. Flexible workstations are dominated by smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and Bluetooth headphones, but such places no longer only exist in a formal office. Homes and other environments can and have rapidly been turned into “offices”, provided they have internet connections and somewhere to charge the myriad of electronic devices needed in a working day. Jung’s USB sockets can be used to connect two devices at the same time, one using the type A (traditional) USB connection and the other the type C (smaller) connection, with the further option of including a Schuko® plug socket. The Quick Charge® provides up to 18 Watts so a cell phone can be charged in about an hour and a half. The new
snap-on cover improves safety, makes the socket more stable and produces a cleaner look as the screws are hidden by the cover.
This is not the only design consideration as the range comes in different shapes - the sharp corners of the LS series or the more rounded options of the A FLOW line - and colors - snow white or graphite black, each with an appealing matt finish. The LS ZERO model can be used to integrate the sockets into furnishing elements, with a flush finish and customized solutions. Jung’s USB sockets provide an answer to the growing need to blend working from home with efficient and elegant solutions in which practicality meets aesthetics in manner that pleases both users and designers.
