Pearls on Swine is a journey through a space where interior design becomes a vivid and personal expression of its inhabitants. Located in the heart of Bangalore and designed by the studio Multitude of Sins (MOS), this 420-square-meter duplex apartment takes its name from the idea of a pearl hidden within a shell—an invitation to discover the authentic beauty concealed beneath the surface.
The home is the result of the meeting between two very different styles, those of the owners: on one side, an essential and functional approach rooted in rigor; on the other, a creative vision inspired by brutalism and fantasy. The outcome is a layered environment where every detail tells a part of their story and reflects shared values like a love for animals and a passion for quality.
The entrance opens directly into the living room, which is marked by a unique element: a deep blue semicircle traced into the floor, breaking up the grey surfaces and inviting exploration. To the left, a partition made of natural stone and perforated wood filters the view while incorporating practical features like hooks, shelves, and an umbrella holder.
Straight ahead, the living room unfolds as a fluid and versatile space, designed to accommodate the couple’s daily activities—from morning yoga to playtime with the dogs, and even spontaneous evening dance sessions. The walls, clad in raw basalt stone, are softened by inserts of Toronto marble, which also serve to protect the surfaces from pet scratches
A custom-upholstered sofa anchors the space, crafted with a curated mix of leather, velvet, steel, and cotton. Around it, lounge chairs, abstract artworks, sculptural lamps, and a multifunctional coffee table contribute to an eclectic yet sophisticated atmosphere.
In the main living area, the bar stands out thanks to a majestic wall unit in brutalist style. A concrete arch rests on a wooden base, housing a backdrop of perforated steel adorned with glass shelves and accessories.
Perimeter lighting highlights its presence, making it the star of the space. Opposite the bar, a corner sofa runs along a wood-paneled wall, evoking an English pub vibe. Made of leather and steel with deep burgundy accents, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a drink.
The dining area features a three-meter-long table made of concrete-effect tiles, framed with marble and blue wood inlays. It is surrounded by painted steel chairs with metallic leather upholstery.
Just opposite, the kitchen unfolds along one wall, marked by pink, grey, and wood elements, and features a sliding wooden ladder for easy access to the upper cabinets.
On the other side of the house are the guest bedroom and the TV/library room, featuring a towering wooden bookshelf crowned by a light grey brick vaulted ceiling, giving the room a warm and intimate ambiance. A geometric rug in shades of burgundy, light blue, and taupe adds color and comfort.
Next to it, the guest bedroom stands out with its beige tile flooring, upholstered headboard, and a rust-colored feature wall that enhances its character
Upstairs, you’ll find the home office, master bedroom, and a walk-in closet. The owner’s study is a bright, private retreat, furnished with a desk that faces a large window offering views of the surrounding trees.
The master bedroom, wrapped in grey tones and thoughtfully detailed, is centered around a bed with a steel and blush-pink leather headboard that brings elegance and color into the space. Opposite it, a beige-toned vanity station adds another sophisticated accent.
The room opens onto a private terrace equipped with an outdoor gym, complete with a climbing wall, hammock, pull-up bar, and yoga area—an ideal space where wellness, design, and nature coexist in perfect balance.
