In Northern Thailand and the heart of the Indian Ocean, two hospitality projects separated by geography share a common poetic vision — that of IF (Integrated Field), which translates an idea of hospitality into architecture rooted in nature, sustainability, and sensory calm.
Patamma, in Thailand’s Nan Province, and the Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives embody a design philosophy built on a constant dialogue with the landscape, offering experiences that are both immersive and contemplative.

Before being a hospitality destination, Patamma is first and foremost a project of environmental regeneration. The reforestation of the site — with thousands of trees planted to restore soil fertility and rebuild the ecosystem of the Nan River valley — forms both the premise and the matrix of the project.
The architecture emerges as a natural continuation of this ecological gesture. The buildings, constructed from rammed earth sourced directly from the site, possess a warm, tactile materiality that helps regulate the microclimate while grounding the complex in its physical and cultural context.

The volumes follow the flood lines and the gentle curves of the river landscape, taking on forms that seem to have been shaped by water itself. The villas, inspired by the smooth pebbles of the riverbed, offer a contemporary reinterpretation of Northern Thailand’s vernacular tradition, expressed through lightweight roofs and intimate proportions. Generous openings frame the river view, turning the surrounding landscape into an integral part of the spatial and sensory experience.

Patamma is a responsible project that fully embodies a philosophy of regeneration, sustainability, and immersion in place, inviting guests to become active participants in its vision.

In the idyllic setting of the Maldives, Centara Grand Lagoon transforms architecture into a sensory frame for nature. The complex does not seek to impose itself on the site, but rather to become part of it, attuning to its natural language.
A sense of openness and connection with the outdoors permeates every design choice — from the textured finishes that recall the tactility of sand, to the wood that adds warmth to the touch, and the use of natural light to shape and soften the interior atmosphere.

The entire project is conceived in service of an experience of stillness and observation. The sculptural villas maximize the relationship with the outdoors while ensuring a sense of intimacy and protection. The C-Bridge is designed as a pause point, a place to watch the sunset over the sea, while every space — even those of transition and passage — is carefully composed so that the landscape remains a constant presence and interlocutor.

The island itself is an invitation to contemplation, and the architecture becomes a silent stage, functionally supporting and amplifying this experience.

The two projects express a shared vision — one of hospitality born from the landscape, of an architecture that acts as a delicate threshold between nature and human presence.
Organic forms, local materials, and visual continuity transform the guest’s experience into a sensory journey. Through this approach, IF’s architecture invites a contemplative and mindful way of inhabiting space, deeply rooted in its context.
