With FACID, the external appearance of a building can be adapted to changing requirements quickly and efficiently at any time, without limiting its function. With its textile surface, the FACID façade even enables most changes of this type to be made while the building is still in use, without interfering with the fabric of the building.
Be it as a suspended, rear-ventilated façade, integrated - and, if desired, active - screening and solar shading, an additional decorative level or a combined façade, FACID is based on a patented clamping system and does not require any complex fabric manufacture. The entire flexible and durable façade system provides developers and architects with considerable design freedom. In turn, the metal fabricator benefits from the low weight per unit area and quick, easy installation.
“Flexholder technique” without hemstitches
FACID uses the “flexholder technique” without hemstitches or any other complex fabrication. The reversible flexholders are simply clamped onto the pre-cut fabric and subsequently locked into the clamping channel of the profile. While other methods only achieve the tension in the fabric after subsequently moving the profiles, the internal mechanism tensions perfectly and immediately up to all corners and connections. It is therefore possible to position the profiles exactly and fit them with all of the connections before tensioning.
There is a wide variety of fabrics available for the flexible façade, depending on the application and building type. This includes pre-tensioned printable PVC fabric and high-quality fibreglass fabric for requirements with fire protection class A2, for example.
