Turning technical solutions into discreet, intelligent architectural elements has long been central to MV Line. Over more than three decades, this Italian company has grown alongside changing lifestyles and the increasing demands for climate control, energy performance, and home comfort and protection. Today, with eight production sites in Italy and abroad, MV Line offers a comprehensive range of systems – from solar shading and insect screens to bioclimatic pergolas and roller shutters – designed to improve comfort and environmental performance across both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Over time, the company has placed increasing emphasis on design, refining both the form and language of its products while expanding its range. This design focus has been further shaped by the appointment of designer Giulio Iacchetti as art director.

In responding to the rise of outdoor living and the need for ever better control and use of light, heat and natural ventilation, the company has developed a series of shading systems and bioclimatic pergolas – Papillon and Ischia are two excellent examples. Designed by Iacchetti, Papillon reinterprets the classic outdoor umbrella as an artistic installation such that its opening mechanism, inspired by the movement of butterfly wings, combines innovation, functionality and a sense of lightness. Ischia, a freestanding pergola system, intentionally and naturally extends interior space outdoors, allowing precise control over sunlight and airflow through adjustable aluminum louvers. Minimal in both form and footprint, the innovative Phantom25 insect screen can disappear from view, integrating seamlessly into the surrounding architecture.
At Milan Design Week, MV Line presented a series of new products, including the SunDrive outdoor canopy, showcased at Palazzo Litta as part of the Sunflower installation. It foregrounds a dialogue between technical research in solar shading and the photographic work of Massimo Gardone and Alessandra Muran. The defining feature is a system of arms concealed within the fabric. As Iacchetti puts it, this is “light architecture that begins with function but moves beyond the purely technical”.
