The inspiration for Tatiwala Gehna stemmed from a singular vision: to create a space that celebrates both the art of age-old jewelry and the regal essence of Jaipur. The design blends tradition with modernity, drawing inspiration from the concept of “shringaar,” where jewelry is revered as a key element. The space honors Jaipur’s rich architectural legacy while capturing the delicacy and femininity of its royal past. Each detail was thoughtfully conceived as an ode to the city’s artistry, allowing the design to whisper the story of Jaipur’s grandeur and elegance.

A fortress-like presence, intricate and strong, guiding the way to the precious jewels within

Situated in the heart of Jaipur, Tatiwala Gehna offers a striking contrast to its modern urban context. Nestled within a typical mall environment, the boutique stands as a tribute to the city’s timeless heritage, with a contemporary twist. The facade, crafted from painstakingly hand-chiseled pink sandstone, marks the beginning of a narrative that blends history with innovation. This thoughtful juxtaposition of the old and the new transforms the space into a visual and emotional experience, where visitors are transported to the royal courts of Jaipur with every step.

Subtle yet stunning, the patterns are inspired by Kundan Meena jewels housed inside

Tatiwala Gehna seamlessly blends tradition, sustainability, and modern design. The boutique preserves Jaipur’s iconic hand-carved sandstone artistry through collaboration with local artisans, ensuring its continued relevance in the contemporary world. Eco-conscious principles guide the design, with no toxic paints or varnishes used. The natural beauty of the stone is celebrated, and the furniture is crafted from natural beaten brass. Locally stitched upholstery and minimal lighting further support sustainability, reducing energy use. Prioritizing local craftsmanship and natural materials, the store reduces its carbon footprint while respecting cultural heritage.

Each corner of the store, thoughtfully planned, unfolds a new narrative, elevating the jewelry experience with depth and meaning

Tatiwala Gehna reimagines the jewelry shopping experience by blending traditional craftsmanship with modern luxury. The use of pink sandstone, from floor to ceiling, creates a seamless structure that exudes timeless grandeur. The soft, gerua hue ties the space to Jaipur’s cultural roots, while intricate carvings inspired by ancient Indian art and Kundan Meena jewelry adorn the walls. Motifs of local flora and fauna further enrich the space, while the ceiling’s carvings reflect Rajasthan’s textile heritage. Inspired by "Aithidi Devo Bhava" (the guest is God), the design ensures each visitor feels like royalty. The layout fosters an intimate atmosphere, offering exclusive spaces to engage with the jewelry in a serene environment. Restrained lighting draws attention to the craftsmanship, creating a space more like a royal chamber than a retail store. The innovation lies in blending modern retail with tradition, inviting customers to connect not only with the jewelry but with the artistry behind it. Every detail is thoughtfully designed, from zardozi-embroidered upholstery to vintage brass thali-inspired furniture. Regal ‘khaat’-inspired seating adds comfort and sophistication, enhancing the royal experience. The store layout mimics the feel of royal courts, with strategically placed seating offering comfort and exclusivity. Tatiwala Gehna is more than a store; it’s an immersive journey into Jaipur’s culture, artistry, and luxury, providing a personalized shopping experience.

Bio

At our core, we believe interior design is more than aesthetics—it’s storytelling. With over 16 years of experience, we specialize in crafting spaces that reflect the essence of those who inhabit them. Our designs blend traditional craftsmanship with modern innovations, celebrating the handmade, the organic, and the imperfect, creating personal, timeless environments.

We are committed to local resources and cultural influences, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully considered. Our work evolves through an inclusive, iterative approach, finding inspiration in everyday objects, encounters, and movement. Each design fosters deeper connections, with tactile textures and subtle lighting that evoke warmth.

Our philosophy is simple: spaces should inspire, nurture, and feel like home. Every corner and detail tells a story, connecting the past, present, and future in ways that are both familiar and new, transforming the experience of living within it.
