The project is located in Wanning, Hainan. The site was originally a coffee plantation developed by overseas Chinese who returned during the anti-Chinese movement in Indonesia. They cleared the wilderness and established a coffee factory, creating a legendary story of the Chinese coffee industry. This history of persecution, exile, return, reclamation, and the creation of a miracle deeply touched the designers. The team saw it as an encouragement during a struggling phase in life, an inspiration about miracles.

Due to the constraints of the original structural load and building control lines, the designers reimagined the three buildings as three mountains and created an artificial "sea" in front of the central peak. This concept draws inspiration from the legendary "One Pool, Three Mountains," paying tribute to the miracles of overseas Chinese and their aspirations for a more prosperous, confident future.
To ensure visual unity and iconicity, the three buildings are enveloped in translucent Ferrari membranes. These membranes feature three varying perforation rates, with transparency gradually increasing from bottom to top. This creates a peak-like visual boundary that shimmers in the sunlight and generates a shaded transition space, blurring the visual and climatic boundaries while defining a distinctive facade image. A pathway on the "sea" leads to the main mountain's lobby, where two pathways branch off to ascend the mountains. The paths connect diverse functional spaces, such as a coffee reception area and an overseas Chinese exhibition area, seamlessly integrating architecture with visitor experience.
The design subtly integrates historical culture and mythology, centered around the concept of "One Pool, Three Mountains." It pays tribute to the legend of Indonesian returnee overseas Chinese who reclaimed wasteland and established the coffee industry, imbuing the buildings with profound significance. In terms of spatial planning, a carefully curated "mountain climbing" route links key functional areas, such as the coffee reception area and the overseas Chinese cultural exhibition space. This route interweaves indoor and outdoor spaces, transforming the main building into an abstract layered "mountain," enriching the overall spatial experience. The architecture's exterior is distinctive, featuring lightweight membranes with varying perforation rates that create translucent shells for the three structures. This design forms visual boundaries and transition spaces, accentuating the buildings against the rich backdrop while also providing sun shading. Moreover, the lighting design adds further allure, with the buildings shifting color at twilight. The high-saturation lighting in the main mountain's lobby evokes a sacred ambiance, allowing the architecture to reveal its different character throughout the day.
This art gallery is clad in a semi-transparent white Ferrari membrane with a unique perforated design, creating a striking visual impact that shifts between day and night. It has become a new cultural landmark and tourist hotspot in Wanning. The design, which embodies the sentiments of overseas Chinese, features eco-friendly techniques, cutting-edge architectural aesthetics, and an abstract interpretation of Wanning's ecological advantages, earning widespread recognition from architecture media.
