The idea arose from the need to regenerate a dismissed and degraded urban area once known as ex-Marazzato. The concept aimed to return this void to the city as a vibrant place of social interaction, combining commercial functions with nature. The design evolved through the search for pure, iconic volumes and a layout that would reconnect the site with its surroundings while offering a new gateway to Treviso.

The project stands as the first visual landmark for those arriving from Treviso airport, marking the city’s threshold. The buildings are conceived as suspended glass volumes visible from the main road, while their distribution creates sheltered public plazas and green corridors. Parking areas are concealed within dense vegetation, transforming the site from a barrier into a porous, welcoming edge that reconnects to the surrounding urban fabric.

Coated metal was chosen for its refined appearance, durability, and ability to emphasize the pure geometry of the buildings. The anthracite-grey aluminum cladding contrasts with warm terracotta-colored details, creating a controlled yet dynamic composition. Metal also ensures low maintenance and longevity, essential for a commercial complex exposed to heavy use, while highlighting the lightness of the glass volumes.

Sustainability guided every phase: façades use a CO₂-absorbing coating, and the parking area was turned into an “urban forest” that reduces fine dust and energy consumption. Green spaces mitigate heat island effects and promote biodiversity. The client states: “We wanted a project that would give something back to the city — not just buildings, but a healthier and more welcoming environment.”

Centro Canova transforms a dismissed industrial site into a new urban gateway for Treviso. The project merges commercial functions with nature, offering public plazas and green areas that foster social interaction. Large suspended glass volumes form clear, iconic shapes visible from the main road. Buildings are framed by anthracite-grey metal panels with terracotta accents, contrasting with the lush vegetation that wraps the site. Parking areas are hidden within greenery, turning infrastructure into landscape. Sustainability is central: the façades actively capture CO₂, while the extensive tree canopy improves air quality and reduces energy use. The result is a contemporary, permeable commercial center that rebalances built and natural environments.
