The genesis of Urban Oasis in Gujarat was driven by the ambition to introduce the state's inaugural IGBC Platinum-rated gated community, emphasizing eco-conscious living & environmental excellence in housing. The concept originated from the necessity to merge sustainability with urban living, focusing on technical precision & innovative design. Key elements included strategic site planning, energy-efficient frameworks & the utilization of local, sustainable materials. The development aimed to provide a green living space & enhance the quality of life through thoughtful integration of the principles of community-centric design & green landscapes. This initiative was to inspire new standards for future housing projects, emphasizing a sustainable biophilic approach tailored to future housing.

The architectural design maximizes natural light, ventilation. Energy efficiency is enhanced by high-efficiency lighting, HVAC systems, Rainwater harvesting systems & greywater recycling. Low-flow fixtures & automatic regulated irrigation systems in the project minimize water wastage. Regional, non-toxic, recycled materials to minimize environmental impact, contributing to reduced transportation emissions & supporting local economies. 103% green coverage with native, drought-resistant plant species, promoting biodiversity and reducing the urban heat island effect. Vertical gardens & green roofs enhance thermal insulation & air quality. Urban Oasis embodies a shift toward eco-conscious living within a dense Indian city. The project's design is rooted in the site's geographical & cultural context, integrating local architectural elements & materials which reflect the region's heritage & environmental conditions Spanning over 76,440.92 sq ft with a thoughtful architectural blueprint, optimizing its 209,422 sq ft of built space by integrating both high-rise & low-rise elements, fostering spatial efficiency & blending with the surroundings. This layout achieves energy optimization & superior air quality critical in urban settings. Ahmedabad's climate presents challenges for nurturing greenery due to its arid conditions. With scorching summers and limited rainfall, the city's environment demands resilient plant species that can withstand heat and thrive in dry soil. Efforts to achieve greenery often involve strategic water management, drought-resistant landscaping & the cultivation of hardy plants that can endure Ahmedabad's hot, dry climate. Despite these challenges, innovative gardening techniques & careful plant selection created pockets of green amidst the city's urban landscape

tHE gRID Architects was founded in 2002 by Snehal Suthar and Bhadri Suthar, who believe that designing is not just a profession, but a way of life. They strive for a collaborative approach, focusing on Biophilic design to create buildings in harmony with nature, enhancing psychological, biological, and sociological well-being.
Their practice promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable methods, simplifying the adoption of sustainability. The studio has garnered over 100 international and national awards and contributes to education as visiting faculty at Architectural institutes & NID & NIFT. They frequently engage in panel discussions and jury worldwide. Their philosophy emphasizes design as a spiritual journey, driven by inner consciousness and they practice heartfulness path of meditation, leading to meaningful designs that positively impact society.
