The ground level houses common amenities including a gym, a café, a theatre room. The 45 studios are fanned out at the 3 upper levels with open courtyard spaces between them to facilitate natural ventilation & passive cooling. The studio apartments open into sheltered outdoor decks with clay tile screens.

Terracotta clay tiles, made in South india form ventilated screen along the circulation spaces reducing heat gain & facilitating air movement. The building design by its low rise planning is economical to construct. The use of local bricks , clay tiles, local contractual labor, the planning of courtyards for passive cooling, the facilitation of natural ventilation in all the spaces & the indirect natural lighting achieved by the design, together contribute to an energy efficient sustainable design.
