The campus is the main place where children first join the collective life as individuals, and their perception and experience of the place will influence their growth trajectory. The design team visited and understood the perceptions and spatial needs of more than 500 children, and during the close communication and time spent with them, we obtained first-hand information that they prefer natural materials and atmosphere to colorful architectural spaces, and their natural love for adventure and challenge has an innate affinity for natural elements such as grass, light, wind, rain and soil.

MATRIX focuses on how to integrate the campus into the ecosystem, so as to achieve the interaction between architecture and nature, and to guide children's perception of space and environment to the greatest extent. The richly varied environment contains the creativity of the garden house, where the sports area lingers, and the free interwoven movement line, which is both integral and independent; the colors jump between them, stimulating the vitality of life and storing creativity in the wild. The mountain became an important reference point in the design of the Shenzhen Kindergarten. The playground, sports track and other outdoor facilities use a large number of curved forms to build a complete ecosystem with the sloping mountain structure.

With its integrated structure, the event room can switch between multiple modes within a single room, thus maximizing the use of space. The design of the curved arches randomly opened in the line of the wall view, the rough structure is transformed into a more noble form, embracing the exuberant curiosity. The ceiling uses noise-reducing and environmentally friendly materials, embedding the concept of sustainability in this flexible environmental layout. The convection between the interior and exterior, from left to right, from bottom to top, is designed to fully take into account the children's visual field and experience in the space, and unconsciously the nearby vegetation and garden scenery come into view, intervening a new world for the original layout of the building.

The three-story atrium in the main space initiates the campus boundary and vitality, and the rich spatial layers create many small worlds to explore; the semi-open treatment means that nature can flow and enter the interior, and the flow of light and shadow creates a courteous and orderly spatial atmosphere, completing the free cycle between the two. Full domain rounded chamfer design to ensure maximum safety hazards on the basis of the most precious freedom of childhood presented to the child, which is the inner strength of the design enshrined in it. The first elevated floor, as an important public place for children to play and chase, is designed to connect the transition zone between the external natural space and the internal living space through the architectural arch element, turning the originally monotonous linear space into a sequence of space that can be freely collected and released, and enhancing children's participation in the place and their imagination of exploration. The balance between spatial efficiency and mobility sought by the geometry of the space, with flexible classroom sliding doors to regulate different levels of openness, leads to a freer use and circulation of space. No need to deliberately create a flexible place for social interaction, the freely articulated interactive space is the best field for activities, encouraging children to venture into new contents.

In the early stages of a child's development, it is the content that truly leads the child to respond to the space that is the key measure of its value. The activity space recreates the space, the sequence and hierarchy are laid out sequentially, and the large area of ultra-white laminated safety glass creates a pure, flowing space environment, giving them the identity of "wild" children.
