Tulou Screen for 'FIVE' by OKAY Studio The Tulou dividing screen is a playful dialogue between the two dimensionality of a flat surface screen and the three dimensional individual triangles made from curved and cupped tulipwood that sit within the screen. Each tulipwood triangle sits perched on a tensile wire and is held in place with a red oak counter balance. The wall of triangles sways and bobs gently in the breeze. The installation is the first time that the designers Andrew Haythornthwaite and Peter Marigold have worked together. Scuola materna a Montebelluna (TV) Luisa Fontana The kindergarten in Busta, a small district of Montebelluna (in Treviso province, near Venice), is centrally located in the regenerated heart of the town. The new building replaces the old, temporary construction in a position that is the fulcrum for the civic centre, parish church, football pitch and playground. Ryan Center for the Musical Arts Goettsch Partners The music and communication building is located just south of Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Concert Hall and Regenstein Hall of Music, on the southeastern edge of the Evanston campus. Sited on a prime parcel fronting Lake Michigan and a new arts green, the building is envisioned as a signature facility. DAY-CARE AND HOSTEL COMPLEX Avenier Cornejo Architectes | Chartier Dalix Architectes The new RIVP (Paris public housing agency), designed by Avenier Cornejo Architectes, building houses three services: a hostel for immigrants, a hostel for young workers, a 66 place day-care on the ground floor, as well as communal facilities. Located in Paris’ 20th arrondissement, just beyond the beltway, it is both Parisian and Lilasian. The building’s almost unique location in Paris makes it a concrete symbol of the reconnection between the two areas.
