Resulting from the conversion of a 20th century building, The Loma, in the heart of Milan, offers living solutions in which classic and contemporary coexist in a skillful interplay of luxurious and sophisticated atmospheres.

Architect Roberto Battistello sought to harmonize the historic identity of the building with modern needs by fully exploiting the generous heights of the structure. He designed apartments with spacious floor plans that allow light to enter through large, full-height windows. Elegant string course cornices on the façade gracefully frame the windows created with the FerroFinestra W75 system by Ottostumm | Mogs. These steel windows, with thermal break and matte black finish, meet demanding thermal and acoustic performance standards. The same technical solution was used for the pivot entrance door, the sliding doors in the lofts and the loggias on the second and third floors, as well as for the internal partitions. This stylistic coherence between the exterior and the interior gives this new apartment block in Milan timeless elegance.

In this way, the architect was able to go beyond the traditional linear division of interior space and create new living solutions.

Inspired by the beauty of early 20th century steel windows, Ottostumm | Mogs’ FerroFinestra W75 TB system, which was essential to creating the large steel windows in this project, is ideal for renovation works. It improves the energy performance of the building through an advanced thermal break technology and the design of the profile that accommodates the very latest insulating glass. To make the system even more versatile, there is the possibility of both flush and overlapping design, enabling the creation of various types of windows – tilt and turn, folding, pivoting, and sliding – in a range of noble materials: galvanized steel, stainless steel, Cor-Ten steel, and the elegant Architectural Bronze.
