Hotel Monte Cervino
In the small hamlet of Champoluc in Val d’Ayas, Hotel Monte Cervino opened almost a century ago, a property whose traditional Alpine character remains deeply rooted today. Built in 1930 from the vision of Alessandro Favre and managed by the same family for four generations, the hotel draws its identity directly from the surrounding Alpine environment. A large garden facing Monte Rosa welcomes guests, while the steep terrain dictated the building’s vertical development. The mansard-roofed structure, clad in stone, features wooden balconies and red-and-white window frames designed to blend naturally with the mountain setting. Without betraying its spirit – the warmth of memory and a history still present in the architecture and ground-floor common areas – the hotel has recently renovated its 22 rooms and suites. The redesign introduces a refined and contemporary esthetic, combining larch wood paneling, floating beds, greater openness toward the outdoors and minimalist designer furnishings.

Vimar contributed to the project through the integration of building systems. The By-me Plus home automation system was selected to enable coordinated management of lighting, temperature and energy consumption. Climate management is supported by the multi-sensor from the Linea XT platform, which monitors indoor and outdoor temperature, relative humidity and air quality. Inside the rooms, a card inserted into the keycard slot activates lighting, power outlets and climate control, optimizing both indoor comfort and lighting balance while improving energy efficiency. From a design perspective, the Arké Classic switch range in a total-black finish integrates elegantly with the wood paneling.
The hotel also has an access control system based on Vimar’s smart View Wireless platform, designed for small- and medium-sized hotels. Through the View cloud portal, access permissions for guests and staff can be activated or deactivated at any time. Each room includes a Tab jr. handset intercom connected to the reception switchboard and paired with a Tab 7S Up video entryphone, allowing calls to be received on smartphones as well. Outside, the Roxie video entrance panel manages access in coordination with the card readers installed throughout the property.
Together, these systems make it possible to monitor the entire property remotely via the View app using an intuitive interface. In this way, Hotel Monte Cervino embraces the future of hospitality while preserving the Alpine authenticity and history that date back to the first half of the 20th century.
