The project was conceived to offer a new concept of space dedicated to luxury car enthusiasts — an architecture that makes an impact through both form and color.
The main volume was designed to convey the sensation of floating in the air: a rational, minimalist body where concrete and metal blend in an elegant dialogue, creating a sophisticated and contemporary atmosphere.
The pure geometry of the parallelepiped is enhanced by LED light cuts that emphasize its detachment from the ground, giving the structure an almost weightless quality.
In this suspension lies one of the project’s central themes — a metaphorical evocation of the speed and lightness of sports cars: a dynamic energy transformed into architecture, a silent movement suspended in space.
The project, as an expression of the world of luxury cars, aims to become an iconic landmark, easily recognizable within the urban context.
This was achieved through the suspension of the main volume, which not only serves as a metaphor for speed and lightness but also elevates the internal functions, setting them apart from the city and enhancing the perception of exclusivity and extraordinary experience within.
At the same time, the spaces and functions located at the base ensure a seamless connection with the surrounding road network, creating a harmonious dialogue between architecture and urban context.
The sustainable design strategies adopted aim to reduce environmental impact and optimize the building’s performance throughout its life cycle. The use of a heat pump combined with carefully dimensioned thermal insulation ensures high energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and a significant reduction in consumption. The integration of photovoltaic panels on the roof allows the production of renewable energy, lowering operating costs and supporting environmental protection. The green roof enhances insulation, manages rainwater, mitigates the urban heat island effect, and enriches the building’s aesthetic value. Finally, the suspended structure minimizes excavation and equipment use, reducing energy demand and emissions during construction.
The Black Box project redefines the traditional concept of a garage, transforming it into a secure and exclusive sanctuary for one’s collection, while offering a unique, tailor-made experience for every enthusiast. At the heart of the project are six private boxes — six independent and prestigious spaces designed as true works of art, each meticulously crafted to reflect the passions, needs, and lifestyle of its individual owner. The exclusivity and customization of the interiors, conceived as artistic spaces inspired by the world of speed, stand in deliberate contrast to the rationality and purity of the exterior architecture. The geometric volume, seemingly suspended in mid-air, symbolically evokes the absence of friction, as if propelled by an invisible force. Its striking contemporary image, enhanced by the refined noir cladding, together with the fluid connectivity to the surrounding urban context and the high-end services offered, make Black Box a unique architectural landmark in the Ticino region and a new reference point in the world of luxury car living.
A suspended block, a symbol of lightness and power, holds within it the myth of speed. An exclusive sanctuary where architecture meets desire, and time itself seems to pause before the elegance of motion.
