Fragmentation, aggregation and volumetric interconnection govern the process of the design composition. Compared with the urban planning indications, the volumetric area of intervention was circumscribed and defined in its difficulties of approach and design development with respect to a functional program of housing aggregation. These difficulties are formally manifested in the relationships and in the planimetric and volumetric solutions, determining a dichotomy between an extremely linear portion in its development and a portion opposed to it that seems to press on it

This reading generates tensions that govern the design approach where dividing elements stand out becoming “blades” that separate living areas and determine different perspective cuts giving each home, with a different orientation, greater privacy. The entrance front, extremely linear, with its “broken” regulates the access path to the homes and the possibility for each of them to relate to external spaces of their own relevance in the rear part.

The ground floor dwellings use the external space at the same level with a perimeter green area, while each dwelling on the upper floor with its own staircase takes possession of its own terrace. The walls/blades divide the spaces of relevance, guaranteeing privacy and differentiated spatial readings. The project also aims to respond to the demands of the real estate market by developing different solutions that, compared to the basic proposal, aggregate the housing units according to vertical volumetric additions and horizontal volumetric additions, maintaining the external image and the planimetric system unchanged in its compositions and design tensions. For this reason, the load-bearing structure finds confirmation and expresses a strong correlation with this fragmentation, aggregation and volumetric interconnection.
