Will Meyer and Gray Davis, Co-Founders of the New York-based design studio Meyer Davis, worked closely with design studio EDG, on the interior design of the newly built Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol. Located along the coast of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, the resort pays homage to the region’s cultural past while capturing Cabo's charm. Inspired by the hotel’s setting on an old agave farm, Meyer Davis and EDG drew from the location’s locale and spirited history. The interiors are brought to life with colors native to Cabo, and its ocean views. Meyer Davis spearheaded the interior design of the guest rooms and public spaces, while EDG designed the resort's dining experiences, the poolside areas, adventure center, market and the resident-artist studio.

Located along the peaceful coast of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, the resort is deeply informed by its setting on an old agave farm and the rich cultural legacy of Cabo San Lucas. Meyer Davis and EDG drew inspiration from the site’s natural terrain and spirited past to create a layered experience that feels both rooted and refined. Indigenous materials and native greenery, ground the architecture in its environment. Interiors are enlivened with vibrant textiles, bold patterns, and regionally inspired colors that mirror the energy of the surrounding landscape. Expansive balconies, garden-connected spa rooms, and open-air dining areas blur the boundary between indoors and out, allowing guests to feel fully immersed in the rhythm of the coast.

Throughout the property, numerous indigenous materials including ojinaga stone, parota, and Mexican alder are used as it was important for the team to make intentional efforts to visit the local artisans from San Miquel de Allende, Guadalajara to Mexico City to not only be connected to the land and culture but to the artists and the methods themselves. The restaurants and bar areas showcase collections of vintage and contemporary pinas, a traditional ceramic form that originates in the state of Michoacán, and centered in the town of San José de Gracia. The onsite art space, El Taller, hosts artist residencies allowing emerging and established artists a space to further their practice and share their work with new audiences.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol offers a richly textured experience shaped by design storytelling, cultural resonance, and material authenticity. Meyer Davis and EDG crafted a distinct spatial journey that moves fluidly from serene guestrooms to vibrant dining venues, tranquil spa environments, and playful poolside areas. The project showcases a refined interpretation of regional heritage, seen in features like vintage surfboards in elevator lobbies, sculptural clay lighting crafted on-site, and architectural screens inspired by fishing nets and knots. The open kitchen at Palmerio, rammed earth walls at Coraluz, and Oaxacan pottery at Sora demonstrate how form and craft converge across settings. Custom furnishings, encaustic tiles, forged metal fixtures, and glazed pottery elevate everyday experiences into sensory moments. Each space integrates natural light, ocean views, and garden settings, while the resort’s residential character and emphasis on artisanal collaboration make it feel layered, warm, and wholly immersive.

FS Cabo
This project focused on honoring the spirit of Cabo while crafting a truly exceptional experience for guests. We wanted every detail to feel rooted in place but elevated in experience. Collaborating with local artisans and working so closely with the land made this a deeply rewarding process. It’s a resort designed to feel both luxurious and grounded in the story of its surroundings.
