Rimini Life is an urban regeneration project aimed at revitalising an area that has long been in decline due to the presence of the former police headquarters which has been an imposing structure that was built but never put into operation. The core idea is to create a high-quality space where private and collective dimensions coexist, offering services and functions that benefit both the neighbourhood and the wider city.
At the heart of the project are a large park and areas dedicated to pedestrians and soft mobility, which serve as the connective tissue between the new commercial and residential elements and the surrounding urban fabric.

Synergy between public spaces, sustainable mobility, and urban functions was the guiding principle of the regeneration project. Roads, pedestrian paths, and cycling routes were designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing local network, minimising the presence of motor vehicles.
A large central park forms the vibrant green heart of the new neighbourhood, offering spaces for social life and well-being while linking all urban functions into a cohesive whole.
Sustainability is one of the pillars of the project, pursued through targeted and integrated choices.
The entire neighbourhood is designed around the principle of organising efficient, eco-compatible buildings within a network of open spaces primarily dedicated to pedestrians and public life. The development includes a single vehicular road axis, minimising car traffic and prioritising soft mobility.
Within this framework, the green system, both public and private, plays a key role: enhancing soil permeability, supporting natural rainwater management, and helping to mitigate the urban heat island effect. Green spaces function as ecological infrastructure, improving the microclimate and the overall quality of life.
The project stands as a progressive example of urban regeneration, designed to maximise public benefit from economic, social, and environmental perspectives. It involves the demolition of a large, abandoned structure which has long been a source of decay and petty crime to restore vitality to the area and unlock the potential of the surrounding neighbourhood. From that cleared space, a new piece of city will emerge, thoughtfully designed to complete and enhance the existing urban fabric.
A green axis equipped with amenities, integrated into Rimini’s wider green infrastructure and cycling network will offer inclusive spaces for social interaction and well-being.
The functional mix includes a 100-bed student residence, high-quality private, public, and social housing, commercial spaces serving the neighbourhood, and public parking. This sustainable and inclusive intervention is set to bring urban vitality throughout the day.
“RiminiLife is a unique and innovative project for the city of Rimini. It stands as a virtuous example of synergy between private initiative and public administration, working together for the public good and the improvement of urban quality of life. We hope it will serve as an inspiring model for many future initiatives.” Marco Da Dalto - Partner in Charge, D&B Sviluppo Immobiliare
