Central Mansion, translating athletic spirit into architectural language

Central Mansion addresses its integration with the Olympic Sports precinct and embodiment of Olympic spirit through visionary urban design. As an park-style TOD project, it seamlessly connected to Olympic Sports Center Station underground. The sunken plazas revitalize public space while energizing the district. In this transitional post-summit, pre-Asian Games era, the design translates athletic spirit into architectural language - where vertical camphor forests, algorithmic lightscapes and reflective water features create a dynamic dialogue between urban infrastructure and ecological consciousness.

Central Mansion strategically integrates with the Olympic precinct's urban fabric through a rhythmic cluster of point-and-slab towers. Unfolding northward through angular rotation of office towers and commercial podiums, the composition establishes visual dialogues with the Qiantang River, Olympic Center, and "Lotus Bowl" landmark. This calibrated spatial choreography injects urban vitality while preserving neighborhood tranquility, where skybridges weave through vertically ascending camphor forests to create permeable sightlines that dissolve boundaries between architectural massing and natural topography, ultimately forging a living ecosystem where civic engagement and ecological consciousness coexist.

The design of Central Mansion delves into location, culture, and the future, drawing inspiration from the distinctive qualities of the Olympic Sports Center and the Qiantang River to integrate seamlessly into the Olympic Sports cluster. It embodies the Olympic spirit, gradually shaping a multidimensional living environment that is avant-garde, diverse, and trendsetting. From an urban design perspective, the architecture views itself as a corner of the urban landscape, participating in and guiding the development and growth of the broader area through a simplistic, refined, and forward-thinking form. The flowing, open, and futuristic façade of the building powerfully echoes the essence of the Qiantang "tidal bore," the Olympic movement, and the vibrant spirit of the region, reflecting its intelligent, technological, and cutting-edge urban character. On the other hand, the exquisite, pristine, and elegant architectural image embodies the refined and graceful cultural heritage of Hangzhou.

As Hangzhou's urban fabric rapidly transforms and expands, residential architecture endures as the city's essential backdrop. This project employs design interventions to address core inquiries: What defines an urban interface – an expression or attitude? How do individuals, communities, and the city interrelate? Through visionary design solutions examining these questions from an urban interface perspective, the development ultimately transcends homogeneous counterparts.
