Jinjiang Shangyuan Life Art Museum takes "alley courtyard life" as its core, integrating the semi open spatial characteristics of traditional Chengdu residences. The design draws inspiration from the layout of Kuanzhai Alley and reinterprets the hierarchical relationship between courtyards and alleys through modern techniques, creating an artistic conception of "alleys in the courtyard and scenery in the alleys". Intended to enable residents to return to a lifestyle intertwined with nature and courtyards, preserving the comfortable and leisurely memories of Chengdu in the bustling city, and achieving a balance between traditional residential culture and contemporary aesthetics.

The project is located at the intersection of the suburbs, backed by the city and facing Sanshenghua Township, combining urban convenience with natural wildness. The architecture introduces urban vitality and suburban landscape into the interior through staggered courtyards and transparent interfaces. The alley courtyard space continues the transitional logic of Chengdu's "market courtyard nature", echoing the traditional street and alley texture while strengthening the visual connection with the ecological tourism area, becoming a link between the city and nature.
The design adopts passive energy-saving strategies, such as courtyard ventilation and sunshade eaves corridors, to reduce energy consumption. Local materials and vegetation reduce carbon footprint, and rainwater harvesting systems support landscape irrigation. The integration of three-dimensional greening and the Three Holy Flower Township ecology enhances biodiversity. By integrating low intervention construction with nature, the project has become a localized practice of green building, balancing the needs of development and ecological protection.
The project aims to reshape Chengdu's living memory through the use of "alleyway courtyard" spaces, connecting public and private areas through semi open courtyards. The combination of modern steel structures and traditional bricks and tiles not only meets functional requirements, but also continues the cultural context. The art museum combines exhibition, social, and commercial attributes, activating the vitality of the area. Its core advantage lies in emotional resonance - awakening a sense of belonging with familiar scales and materials, and preserving humanistic warmth in rapid urbanization.
Jinjiang Shangyuan Life Art Museum is a contemporary translation of traditional alleyway life, responding to the needs of urban development while safeguarding regional cultural identity. It becomes a medium that links the past and the future through ecological design, spatial narrative, and functional integration.
