The De' Longhi Group Headquarters project emerged from the desire to regenerate a site devastated by a 2007 fire. In 2015, the company repurposed the land for its new headquarters, aiming to connect the various activities of the business. The design integrates the existing industrial architecture with natural elements, balancing rigid workspaces with fluid green spaces. Sustainable materials such as concrete, aluminum, and glass were selected for their durability, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. An internal garden with organic paths and green dunes creates a connection between the indoors and outdoors, transforming an urban void into a thriving, functional campus.
The project transforms a former asphalted void into a vibrant space with green courtyards and organic pathways, establishing a seamless connection between interior and exterior. It integrates industrial architecture with natural elements, contrasting rigid workspaces with flowing landscaped areas. The internal courtyard offers a serene space for employees to reconnect with nature. The decision to specify coated metal for the building's envelope was driven by aesthetic, functional, and sustainability considerations. Aluminum, chosen for its durability, recyclability, and lightweight properties, is ideal for the building's facades. The coating applied to the metal enhances its aesthetic appeal, creating a textured white finish that contrasts with the existing industrial structure and highlights key architectural features. Furthermore, using metal aligns with the project's commitment to sustainability, as it is long-lasting and recyclable, minimizing environmental impact over time.
