The design concept of the South Golden Bay project stems from a deep respect for the site's natural landscape and ecology. Taking advantage of the unique advantages of the project site, with "over the wilderness" as the design theme, the design method of light landscape intervention is adopted to create a rich and diverse spatial level. From the open lake to the wetlands on the shore, from the undulating grassland to the scattered buildings, to the aerial viewing platform, a variety of different spatial feelings are formed from horizontal to vertical, from open to private, etc., which increases the fun and exploration of the space. The entire site presents a state of breaking out of the wilderness and growing naturally, forming a pattern of mutual penetration with nature.

The South Golden Bay project is located in the core lake area of Luxelakes, Chengdu. The site features winding shorelines and multiple islands, creating a rich, layered landscape. The design respects the natural terrain, integrating buildings with the environment. Buildings are strategically placed to ensure lake views while maintaining privacy. The project employs light landscape intervention to enhance the natural ecology, allowing plants to grow and blend with the landscape. The design creates a harmonious balance between urban development and ecology, forming a seamless relationship with nature, and offering a rich spatial experience that promotes exploration and interaction.
The design of the South Golden Bay project reflects our commitment to preserving the essence of the natural environment while integrating modern architecture. We believe in minimal intervention to enhance the unique characteristics of the site, respecting both the landscape and its ecological context.
Chengdu MaiWei Landscape Architecture Studio was founded in June 2020.
