THDP have completed the refurbishment of the Hotel Terme di Saturnia both the guest rooms and the public area. With a concept focusing on local finishes, crafts, forms and colours , the hotel opened at the end of August and has had a fabulous reception. Surrounded by beautiful Tuscan countryside, this luxury golf and spa resort is 3 km from both Le Cascate del Mulino waterfall and the village of Saturnia in Tuscany Italy.
A magical setting for an Internationally Unique hotel and a rare opportunity to work on a 5 star hotel with the focus on luxury.
Creative details customize these rooms, such as the new upholstery that covers the closets, designed exclusively for the resort by THDP and the artistic project of the paintings, evocative of the colors of the spa, created by the artists Due Alberi of Rome. (see landing card). The fabrics and upholstery are all renewed with shades of turquoise, oil and blue, in order to evoke the feeling of well-being given by the Springwater. The inspiration for the concept is formed around this super natural condition. The earth, the air, and the water transform the elements, the light, the temperature. THDP used terms such as reflection, corrosion, erosion, layering, ripples to create the visual and emotional language of the interior design. Light installations with glass spheres were created by Gomiero, who had the intuition to ripple the spheres, to createre the same reflection of water on the walls required by the study, as happens in the rooms near the bathtub in the common parts. The waterfalls of the Mill were the inspiration behind the design of the reception area, creating together with local artisans such as the Ragnini workshops of Pitigliano who have created oxidized tables and bronzed handles and with experienced craftsmen such as Ramiro Contract and design such as Materica who work metals in a contemporary way, using them liquid to transform them into corroded metals, as well as sulphur dense water.

THDP was founded in 2005 by Architect Manuela Mannino & Interior Designer Nicholas Hickson. Since then, the studio has gone on to design hotels, restaurants, and residences all over the World.
Our creative team has been hand chosen and works comfortably in the demanding discipline of hospitality design. aiming to be flexible and able to react to the fast-moving waters of hospitality.
