The project is located in a small rural village and adaptive reused from several stone houses. Rural context, history and image inspired the interior design and inner story. It integrated the old and new buildings, reinterpreting the relaxed rural lifestyle through soft colours and natural views.

The first idea relates to the existing buildings’ features, such as rough stones and old trees, relaxed courtyard. Especially, stone and timber are recycled form the old site, while these raw materials will slowly grow up organically on the new site. The layout of the room are not defined by the four walls in the normal way, but inspired by the traditional housing with yard. The rural style was deliberately reserved during the production process, leaving some natural clumsiness in the space and makes it real and pure.

Secondly, transparency - rendering the demarcation between inside/outside ambiguous. The stone house it possesses old elements, and it is closed to the natural environment with forest and mountain. Generous glass surfaces offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests and also make these raw elements posed on the natural environment. While maintaining views through the glazed façade, make the visitors asleep in nature. The function modules in the guest rooms including hallway, living area and bedroom, are integrated into the building without extra decoration and equipment to make the space as pure as possible.

It is our pursuit to use grey colour to operate the space atmosphere, which is different from other similar resorts. The peaceful and welcoming atmosphere of the building interior is emphasized by the use of grey concrete texture and stable walnut furniture as the main choices. Visitors comfort is prioritized through the inclusion of communal spaces and furniture.

Another important issue in this design is sustainability. The selection of materials and furnishing is based on two principles: one is to recycle potential of the materials, such as stones and timber, and the other aims to long term use without any waste of resources and any emission of toxic gases in the production process, such as steel, concrete coating and black walnut facing. Especially, some traditional techniques in construction and materials are widely considered. The room layout of the size and the depth and using generous glass windows make it possible to achieve the maximum of the environmental views, lighting and ventilation with the local various qualities, which affects the indoor environment quality and reduces the electric energy.
