WAF 2025, la Shortlist dei migliori edifici, interni e paesaggi internazionali

Il World Architecture Festival (WAF) svela la sua shortlist per l’edizione del 2025, che comprende oltre 460 progetti, scelti tra più di 780 candidature provenienti da tutto il mondo. Dopo aver attraversato città come Singapore, Lisbona, Amsterdam, Barcellona e Berlino, quest’anno il festival sarà per la prima volta negli Stati Uniti, a Miami, per la sua 18esima edizione.

L’evento, che si svolgerà dal 12 al 14 novembre presso il Miami Beach Convention Center, nel cuore dell’Art Deco District di South Beach, rappresenta una piattaforma internazionale per la presentazione e la valutazione dal vivo dei progetti  che spaziano tra edifici completati, progetti di paesaggistica urbana, interni e future progettualità innovative. Tra i protagonisti, studi di fama mondiale come Bjarke Ingels Group, Foster + Partners, Studio Gang, Grimshaw, Nikken Sekkei, Mario Cucinella Architects e Perkins&Will, insieme a studi emergenti nel panorama internazionale. 

I 235 progetti completati (Completed Buildings) selezionati quest'anno spaziano da uno studio cinematografico a New York ai padiglioni dell’Expo 2025. I 157 progetti futuri (Future Projects) includono un nuovo aeroporto per Atene e la struttura di un enorme telescopio in Cile. La categoria dedicata agli interni (WAF Interiors) presenta 64 progetti, tra cui un hotel immerso nella foresta pluviale di Singapore e un noodle bar a Chongqing, mentre i paesaggi (Landscape) finalisti includono una piazza pubblica nel cuore di Canary Wharf a Londra e un parco ecologico per la fauna selvatica in India.

Il WAF non è solo una competizione, ma un vero e proprio evento culturale che include keynote speech, esposizioni, tour guidati, workshop e opportunità di networking. La giuria è composta da 164 esperti provenienti da 37 Paesi, tra cui figurano nomi di spicco come Ma Yansong di MAD Architects, Annette Fisher di FA Global, Richard Maimon di KieranTimberlake, Joyce Owens di Architecture Joyce Owens LLC e Franziska Meisel di Henning Larsen.

Durante il festival, tutti i finalisti presenteranno i loro progetti e i vincitori di tutte le 45 categorie si sfideranno per concorrere al titolo di World Building, Landscape, Future Project e Interior Project of the Year.
