In Vascon di Carbonera, in northeast Italy’s Treviso area, Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli has designed a new multi-tenant headquarters for Itagency, Faba, Maikii, and Exclama. Located against a backdrop of industrial buildings, this new hub stands out for a lightweight, permeable envelope that transforms this place of work into an outward‑looking, innovative space while simultaneously embracing functionality, social interaction, design, and art.

From the outset, a key element of this project was reversibility, ensuring that the architecture can adapt and transform over time. Therefore, to give this four-story structure high flexibility, the design team opted for an isotropic frame, freeing the interiors of load-bearing constraints. As a result, the offices are modular, spaces can be informal or formal and reconfigured as needed, and meeting areas are more time efficient. Contributing to this are mobile and adaptable furnishings and strategies. This approach will allow the hub to adapt and evolve with time, without invasive interventions.

Further enhancing the modularity of the complex, the industrial concrete flooring was laid using Pavilux, a product manufactured by Isoplam. Its uniform, jointless finish underscores the clarity of architectural lines and the flow of spaces, while the neutral Cement color and polished finish contribute to the appearance and material quality of the interiors.

Pavilux industrial flooring is made for high‑traffic environments and is wear and impact resistant. Its non-dustingproperties and ease of maintenance also ensure a long service life, preserving the surface’s appearance and functional qualities. This durability reflects the overall design philosophy behind the project.

Another feature that adds to the building is its rooftop plaza. Art created by Lorenzo Mason adds a highly distinctive touch to this breakout space. By introducing a language that bridges environmental art and urban marker, it transforms the roof into a canvas that represents the overall design philosophy.
